About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Jeremiah Bridges and Richard Dolezal, Plumas Disc Golf is a passionate non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of disc golf in Plumas County, California. Our journey began with the creation of the Pioneer Park Disc Golf Course in Quincy, a project brought to life with the invaluable support of James Shipp from the Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District. Since then, we've been on a mission to expand the reach of disc golf, fostering a vibrant community of enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

At Plumas Disc Golf, our mission is to cultivate a love for disc golf by providing accessible, high-quality courses and events that bring people together. We strive to enhance community engagement, promote healthy outdoor activities, and support the growth of the sport through education and outreach.

Our Vision

We envision a future where disc golf is a staple recreational activity in Plumas County, with multiple courses and a thriving community of players. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of age or skill level, can enjoy the sport and connect with nature.

Meet the Team

Current Board Members

Jeremiah Bridges - Co-Founder & President

Jeremiah has been a resident of Plumas County since 1990 and started playing disc golf in 2000. As a co-founder and original board member, he saw the need for a club to organize disc golf activities and has been a driving force behind the organization's growth.

Frederick Howe - Vice President

Fred, born and raised in Plumas County, joined the board in 2022. He started playing disc golf in 2005 and is committed to enhancing and growing the sport in the county alongside Jeremiah.

Rebecca Terhune - Secretary

Rebecca, a Venezuelan-American, fell in love with Quincy during childhood visits. She moved to the area in 2004 and found solace in disc golf after her father's passing. As a board member, she gives back to the community that has become her second family.

Mike McQuinn - Treasurer

Details about Mike's background and contributions are coming soon, but his role as treasurer is crucial in overseeing the financial health of Plumas Disc Golf.

Dennis Williams - Board Member

Dennis rediscovered his love for disc golf in 2021 after moving to Quincy in 2016. His involvement with the local disc golf community has been a rewarding experience, and he is excited to contribute to its growth.

Richard Dolezal

Richard was the Vice President of Plumas County when he left the board, he is a co-founder of the club, and his efforts were integral to the success of Plumas Disc Golf the first few years.
