About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Jeremiah Bridges and Richard Dolezal, Plumas Disc Golf is a passionate non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of disc golf in Plumas County, California. Our journey began with the creation of the Pioneer Disc Golf Course in Quincy, a project brought to life with the invaluable support of James Shipp from theĀ Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District. Since then, we've been on a mission to expand the reach of disc golf, fostering a vibrant community of enthusiasts and newcomers alike. We've hosted over 20 events, including the Dynamic Discs Trilogy Challenge each year for the past 3 years, weekly bag tag league, weekly ladies league, and beginner clinics. Looking ahead, we're excited to begin work on Cascade Disc Golf Course. Join us as we continue to grow the sport of disc golf in Plumas County!

Our Mission

At Plumas Disc Golf, our mission is to cultivate a love for disc golf by providing accessible, high-quality courses and events that bring people together. As a non-profit organization, we strive to enhance community engagement, promote healthy outdoor activities, and support the growth of the sport through education and outreach in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our Vision

We envision a future where disc golf is a staple recreational activity in Plumas County, with a network of sustainable disc golf courses and a thriving community of players. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment accessible to all, where everyone, regardless of age or skill level, can enjoy the sport, connect with nature, and contribute to its preservation. We believe disc golf has the power to enrich the lives of residents and make Plumas County a premier disc golf destination.

What We Do

  • Tournaments: We host a variety of exciting tournaments to cater to all types of players. Our annual Fight Type 1 Diabetes Fundraiser brings the community together for a great cause with its bring-your-own-partner doubles format. We like to get creative with our events, like the popular Dynamic Discs Trilogy Challenge and the exciting MVP Circuit Challenge tournament. For those who enjoy a challenge, we've hosted the Space Race, a thrilling glow-in-the-dark tournament. All skill levels are welcome at our events, and our tournaments offer special divisions for youth and women. Tournament registration is typically handled through Disc Golf Scene.
  • Leagues:We offer weekly bag tag and ladies' leagues, with prizes ranging from coveted bag tags to gift cards and trophy discs. We've also recently added putting leagues to help players hone their skills. Bag tag registration is included in the yearly membership fee, while registration for other leagues is in-person on the day of play.
  • Course Development:We're committed to expanding access to disc golf by developing and maintaining high-quality courses. We recently started our second course, Cascade Disc Golf Course, and are actively seeking opportunities to add more courses throughout the county.
